Pill art work projects

These are my final projects from painting 3/4 class. Theme was to use pills. Unfortunatly, my blog is backwards because the order is from newest to oldest, and I couldn't figure out to switch them.

Start from Oldest Post to Newest.

Left overs.

Most art classes end semester with finals of critiques and final showing of your work, along with everyone to bring something to eat and or some kind of snack.  Because I had many odd pieces that took a while to set up.  I had to lose a chunk of class time to set up while others had their critique (with instructors permission of course).  It was pointless for me to bring the cookies for the final 30 minutes of class.  I found those cookies while setting up and just displayed them as a joke just to have everyone questioned why I have an unopened package of cookies were there surround by similar pieces.  Not to mention it was next to the dr. Suess looking piece. Though if you request this piece, the cookies are not included, you must supply those yourself.

Finding of composition and collections

This was nearly beginning piece, also finding objects and putting together, along with playing with new materials such as acrylic gel and silicone. It came together like serving a plate.

Messing around

Another piece from the start of set, found objects and playing with them, along with enjoying to melt the container.  Thought dripping pills would be a challenge on my part and cool to accomplish.

Joy pills

Mostly found objects while in my classes, besides the pill bottles, which is something I enjoy doing.
I maybe have a sick sense of humor of something serious and something that looks like from dr. Seuss or candy land.

pill bottles, chop sticks, wires, wood

Displaying the obvious

Experienting in sculpture class with new materials to me.  Parrafin and molding were a trial, and as I was experiementing and seeing what happens, I started throwing things inside of the mold.  Eventually throwing in the pills.  Little different shapes in clear paraffin with pills inside. I also made a billion little wax pieces out of the experiement and didn't know how to disply these.  Eventually limiting my palette and relating to this project helped a lot.  Though I dont know why I added the silicone corners just outside.

Parrafin Wax, cardboards, plexi glass, silicone, pills

Your Plate

This piece was added the day of set up in room.  As you see, the main room in the first or second post, there was a screen in the middle that no one could roll up, and a ball hanging down. So I decided to add this to the floor beneath it.  Not sure why, just seemed to fit.  Though while showing, many people almost stepped on it or overlooked it.

5 small 4"x6" paintings
Acrylic and Oil paintings on cardboard.
Experiments of painting at beginning of semester, unsure what I was planning on doing, but was in process of thinking of pills, emotions, and frustration.  Frustration of the current class and previous semester's.
